Class Exercise

Because the products of this brand are very colorful and summer like, I prefer to use the "ahromatic" color scheme to decorate this store. Using a large of white color to give a clean and summer feeling to customer, and make the produce more eye-catching and attractive.

Moreover, with some black and grey directing line just like the above pic could make the store looks more space and larger.

'Mini Crini' collection (1985)

Vivienne eclares her love for feminine power in this collection. She emphasises the small waist instead of the shoulders by drawing attention to the hips with a short swinging crinoline, the 'criniscule', or puffball skirt. The shoulder is reduced to its natural size by means of the classic proportions of English tailoring using princess lines, which can be worn over the crini.

This important move redefines Vivienne Westwood's vision as a designer, English tailoring remaining to this day the foundation of her work.

Burberry Analysis

Some Background:

Burberry Group plc is a British luxury fashion house, manufacturing clothing and fashion accessories. Its distinctive tartan pattern has become one of its most widely copied trademarks. The company has branded stores and franchises around the world, and also sells through concessions in third-party stores. It runs a catalogue business and has a fragrance line. HM Queen Elizabeth II and HRH The Prince of Wales have granted the company Royal Warrants. Burberry's trademark products are its fashionable handbags and exclusive fragrances. The Design Director is Christopher Bailey. The Company is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index. Both "Burberry" and "Burberry's" are registered trademarks although "Burberry" is used more than the "Burberry's mark.

Burberry Check:

The black, white, and red pattern known as haymarket check or the "Burberry classic check" was first used as a lining for the Burberry trenchcoat in 1924. It was not until 1967 that the Burberry Check, now a registered trademark, was widely used on its own for items including umbrellas, scarves, and luggage. The Novacheck was introduced for the younger market, later altered by making it more "exploded" (bigger) and slanted in a diamond or "mitre" pattern. Christopher Bailey debuted of the "Housecheck", a more exploded version of the Novacheck, during the runway show of S/S 06.

"Scotland Checks" Analysis

Tartan is a pattern consisting of criss-crossed horizontal and vertical bands in multiple colours. Tartans originated in woven cloth, now used in many other materials.

Scottish tartan

Tartan is particularly associated with Scotland. Scottish kilts almost always have tartan patterns. Red tone combination is the most traditional one, the main colors of it are red, dark red, and dark green, and adding two accent color-white and yellow on it. The whole pattern applied the complementary color scheme.

Northumbrian tartan: one of the earliest known tartans.

This tartan is using the "achromatic" color scheme, which is a colorless scheme using blacks, whites and grays.
